Kettering & Northamptonshire
Web design in Kettering, without the agency price tag.
Half of Swift Web Design lives in Kettering. If you want a web designer in Kettering who will notice your heading font is a shade too heavy, which is usually why the finished site looks like it cost more than it did.

Where we actually are
Kettering is one of two home bases.
Swift Web Design is a partnership between two people. Josh is in Sheffield. Harry is here in Kettering, and he came to this from a completely different direction: he used to run a record label and play music, then moved into audio work for video games.
That background shows up in the work. Harry is the reason a heading sits where it does and why a colour is warm rather than cold. If a page on this site looks right, that is him.
You will be dealing with him directly on a Kettering project, because there is nobody else to hand you off to.
Harry can get to most of north Northamptonshire for a meeting, and we work with businesses anywhere in the UK over email and video calls.
What we build here
Small town businesses, sensibly priced.
Northamptonshire is full of firms doing steady work off reputation alone. The website usually needs to do one specific job rather than everything at once.
Turn reputation into enquiries
You already get recommended. The site needs to catch the people who then go and search your name, and give them a reason to call rather than a dead Facebook link.
Compete with Northampton and Milton Keynes
Bigger neighbours pull search traffic. Structuring your pages around the towns you actually serve is how smaller firms stay visible without outspending anyone.
Something you can run yourself
Built on WordPress so a member of staff can update prices, hours and photos. No support ticket needed to change a phone number.
Proof
A Northamptonshire family shop, built from nothing.
Simply Read is a family book business in Northamptonshire. It sells second-hand fiction, signed copies and first editions through an eBay shop, and when it started it had no name, no look and no website of its own.
To be upfront about it: Harry part-owns Simply Read with his dad, so this was never an arm's-length client. Josh built it the way he builds any paying job, from the same brief and the same process, which is why we are happy to show it.
We made the whole identity first: the logo, the colour scheme and the fonts. Then the website around it. The site has one job, which is to show what the shop sells and send people straight to the right shelf of the eBay shop, whether that is Stephen King first editions or signed books.
We have just refreshed the look, including a 3D book on the homepage you can hold to flick through. It is a small thing, and it is the bit people remember.
For a feel of other kinds of business, our example sites show what we design for cafés, venues and trades.

Getting found locally
Showing up when Kettering searches.
Most people find a local business in one of two places: the map at the top of Google, or a page that answers exactly what they typed. A website has to be built for both.
The map comes from your Google Business Profile, which is free and which you run yourself with Google. Reviews count for more there than anything on a website. Our part is the website: we make sure it gives your profile a proper page to link to and uses exactly the same business name and details.
Then the site itself. Each main service gets its own page, and if you work across several towns, the pages say so in plain words. That is how a Kettering firm turns up for a search in Corby or Wellingborough instead of losing it to a Northampton agency with a bigger budget.
Nobody can promise a position on Google, and we won't. What we do promise is that the groundwork is done properly and included in the build. If you already have a site, the free website audit shows what is holding it back.
Places Harry can easily get to for a meeting: Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough, Northampton, Rushden, Burton Latimer, Rothwell, Desborough, Thrapston and Market Harborough.
How it runs
Two people, no middlemen.
When you email, one of us reads it. When the site breaks, one of us fixes it. There is no account manager, no ticket queue, and no junior developer you have never spoken to touching your project halfway through.
That is the whole pitch for working with a two-person studio instead of an agency. You lose a big team. You gain the two people who actually build the thing answering your emails.
We started this in February 2025 because small businesses kept getting quoted three thousand pounds before a single page existed. The pricing is built to be the opposite of that.
- Websites start at £400, quoted as a fixed figure before we begin.
- No VAT, because we are not VAT registered. The quote is the final number.
- Typical build time is 1 to 8 weeks.
- Once it’s paid in full and live, the site, domain and content are yours to keep and take elsewhere if you ever want to.
- Ongoing support is optional through our Plus plans, never a lock-in.
