Builders & construction

Websites for builders who would rather be on site.

Your last ten jobs are the best sales tool you own, and most of them are sat in a camera roll. A builder’s website has one real job: get that work in front of someone deciding whether to trust you with their house.

The actual problem

Homeowners are checking whether you are real.

Someone is about to let a stranger knock a wall out of their house. Before they ring you, they will look you up. What they find decides whether you get the call.

The things they are quietly checking are always the same: does this firm exist properly, have they done work like mine, are they insured, and will they turn up. A Facebook page with eleven photos and no phone number answers none of that.

So we build around those four questions instead of around a design trend. Finished work, front and centre. Accreditations where they can be seen rather than buried on an about page. A phone number that works with one tap on a phone.

What goes on a builder’s site

Built around how the job actually gets won.

None of this is decoration. Each of these exists because it removes a specific reason someone rings the next firm on the list instead.

Project galleries that load fast

Extensions, loft conversions, groundwork, renovations. Grouped by job type so someone planning a kitchen extension sees kitchen extensions, not a slideshow of everything you have ever done.

Before and after, properly paired

The single most persuasive thing a builder can show. We set these up so the comparison is obvious on a phone screen, which is where most people will see it.

Accreditations where they count

FMB, TrustMark, CHAS, CSCS cards, public liability cover. Displayed near the point where someone decides to call, with your real membership numbers rather than a generic badge graphic.

Quote forms that ask the right things

Job type, rough timescale, postcode, budget range. So the enquiry that reaches you is worth ringing back instead of a bare name and email.

Service areas that rank

Pages for the towns you genuinely cover, written properly. Not thirty near-identical pages with the place name swapped, which Google has penalised for years.

One tap to call

On a phone, the number is a button. Most builder enquiries are calls, not forms, and burying the number behind a contact page loses them.

A real one

Peak Plastering had no website at all.

Just an Instagram page, a Facebook profile, and jobs arriving by word of mouth. Quote requests were getting lost in DM inboxes, which is a slow way to lose work you have already won.

We built the whole thing from the ground up: contact forms for lead capture, a professional business email, and local SEO so nearby customers actually find them. New enquiries now land somewhere useful instead of a DM inbox.

We’ve used Swift Web Design and they’ve done what we needed. They’re responsive, and they actually listen when you come to them with ideas. The site they built is clear and it works.

Trades work is where this studio started, and the pricing reflects who it is for. A builder should not be quoted three thousand pounds for a site that shows twenty photos and a phone number.

  • From £400, fixed before we start. No day-rate creep.
  • No VAT to add, because we are not VAT registered.
  • Typically 2 to 8 weeks, and we can work around your season.
  • Once it’s paid in full and live, the site and the domain are yours.
  • Add photography, branding or ongoing edits only if you actually want them.

Common questions

What builders usually ask

It is the most common blocker and it is fixable. Phone photos are usually fine if they are taken in daylight and framed straight, and we will tell you exactly what to shoot on your next job. If the work genuinely is not photographed, we can build the site to launch without a gallery and add one as jobs come in.
Word of mouth still ends in a search. Someone recommends you, the next person types your name into Google to check you are real, and what they find either confirms the recommendation or quietly kills it. That is the job the site is doing, even when you are not chasing new leads.
Yes, and we would push you to. Accreditation logos with your real membership number do more for conversion than almost anything else on a builder’s site, because they answer the insurance and legitimacy question without the visitor having to ask. We put them near the call buttons rather than hiding them in a footer.
We will build pages for the areas you genuinely work in, written individually. What we will not do is generate thirty near-identical pages with the town name swapped out. Google has been penalising that pattern for a long time and it can drag down the rest of your site with it.
That is normal and we plan for it. We need a decent set of photos, your service list and your accreditation details. Everything else we can draft and put in front of you to approve. Most of the delay on trades projects is waiting on content, so the less we need from you, the faster it goes.
